This series is everything collecting coins is about – beautiful artwork, an impressive large format, intrinsic value and genuine rarity in the collector market. 2015 was the first time since 1971 that the Royal Canadian Mint made a substantial upgrade to the highest quality set of each denomination issued for collectors, with the result being the extremely popular 2015 Big Coins series. Rarely available in the marketplace, this complete six piece collection is from the elusive first year of issue. Perhaps most importantly for collectors is the extremely limited mintage of 1,500. GST/HST exempt.
The Design:
From the 2015 first issue through to the final issue in 2019, every Big Coins Series coin has sold out immediately from the Royal Canadian Mint, and most have appreciated in value in the secondary market. The series includes the Loon Dollar, Caribou Quarter, Beaver Nickel, Bluenose Dime, Polar Bear Two Dollars, and Coat of Arms Half Dollar, all beautifully double struck in .9999 fine silver and enhanced with selective 24kt gold plating. Each big coin has a weight of just over five ounces and a diameter of 65 mm.
Each coin comes presented in its own individual case with certificate of authenticity. Total weight is just over 30 ounces of fine silver.
