Description
This 2015 $5 pure silver coloured coin marks the Year of the Sheep. The coin has a low mintage of just 8,888 coins. As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
The image features an artistic rendering of a Bighorn sheep – a native of Canada's Rocky Mountains. The use of colour showcases the sheep's beautiful brown colouring. Nestled within the curl of the sheep's distinctive spiral horn, the Chinese character yang (meaning "sheep" or "goat") denotes the Year of the Sheep. The reverse is engraved with the word 'CANADA,' the date '2015,' and the face value of '5 DOLLARS.' The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
Year of the Sheep:
People born in 1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, and 2015, are all Year of the Sheep. Sheep are usually gentle, elegant, smart, assertive, artistic, creative, curious, shy, determined, and compassionate.
