Description
This vibrantly coloured $20 fine silver coin features several of our most beloved Looney Tunes™ characters in a design that is reminiscent of the end credits of the famously popular cartoons. Bugs Bunny stands in the center with his arms outstretched in a true entertainer’s pose, while below him sits the Tasmanian Devil, whose tongue hangs out of his mouth as he flashes his goofy grin. Peering over Bugs’ right shoulder is the amorous skunk, Pepé Le Pew, accompanied by the black cat that is always the object of Pepé’s affections. Appearing over Bugs’ left shoulder are Daffy Duck and Sylvester, both bearing wide smiles. Last but not least is Tweety, whose diminutive size allows him to sit on Bugs’ head as he extends his arms out as well. This coin weighs just over one ounce of fine silver, and has a limited mintage of 12,500. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
The special packaging for this coin adds to the fun. In true Looney Tunes™ style, the coin comes presented in a box that mimics the ACME crate, which was a fixture in Looney Tunes™ shorts whenever a character ordered something that would be shipped to them. In keeping with the playful nature of Looney Tunes, look closely at the coin to find a hidden surprise design element!
Merrie Melodies:
Merrie Melodies is a series of animated short films produced by Warner Brothers. It featured some of the most famous cartoon characters. Lean Schlesinger pitched his idea to Warner Brothers for a series of cartoon that would feature music from Warner Bros. films, thus naming the cartoon series Merrie Melodies.
