Description
It’s all in your head. “Heading” is one of soccer’s most distinctive moves. It’s critical for intercepting the ball or changing its trajectory midair in order to gain control of the play. Deflecting a soaring soccer ball with your head is not for the faint of heart. It’s a physically demanding skill that requires power and perfect technique.
The Design:
Canadian artist Greg Banning has created an energizing design of a female soccer player “heading” a ball. She grimaces on impact, a clear indication of the skill required for a perfect execution. The maple leaf in the background salutes Canada as host country for FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015TM/MC, and is bursting with pride and great expectations for Team Canada—as the team experiences every athlete’s dream of playing (and hopefully winning!) before a home crowd.
