The Design:
The design features what has been described by historians as one of the bloodiest battles in Canadian history. The Battle of Lundy's Lane (also known as the Battle of Niagara Falls), took place on the 25th of July in 1814, during the War of 1812 American and British North American forces came to gain over territory, and the Battle of Lundy’s Lane was a grisly encounter that marked the height of the violence of this Anglo-American war. The coin is an intensely-rendered depiction of advancing American troops on the left, engaged in battle with British forces as they hold the high ground at Lundy’s Lane.
