Description
This bright, brilliantly-illustrated 2014 coin is part of a series from the Royal Canadian Mint that celebrates the beauty of autumn. Although the chill of a crisp September wind blowing through our cities and towns at the end of the summer harkens to the inevitable start of a long, cold winter, it is impossible to be gloomy when surrounded by the beauty of a Canadian autumn. This one ounce, 99.99% silver coin would make a stunning addition to any collection of Canadiana-themed silver coins; a limited mintage of 7,500 means this striking coin will surely become a sought-after collector's item.
The Design:
Our already-impressive trees are painted in dazzling shades of red, yellow and orange-gold that creates a visual symphony of colour and texture that is breathtaking to behold. Canadian artist Tony Bianco has created a stunning image of an autumn scene in a Canadian forest. A romantic but powerful waterfall is engraved directly into the silver, seen cascading down a rock face. The waterfall winds down to an engraved silver brook, which rushes over a rock-strewn riverbed. The Royal Canadian Mint has used a combination of paint, silver, and refined engraving techniques to create a lush, painterly effect.
