This expertly crafted and affordable 2013 half dollar coin contains 1/25th of an ounce of pure gold and features a Leather Star, one of British Columbia's most intriguing and beautiful marine residents. Mintage 10,000. HST/GST exempt.

 

The Design:

The minute design conveys the textural qualities of the Leather Star's mottled skin, while intricate detailing further portrays one of the brilliant adaptations of such a star fish: the tube feet, capable of detecting prey, that are visible from beneath its curved arms.  While this coin has a small size with a diameter of about 14 mm, the design detail is exceptional creating a miniature work of art in pure gold.
