The Design:

The design features a coloured Canadian tiger swallowtail butterfly, resting on a dandelion. The back is engraved with the word “CANADA,” the date “2013” and the face value of “20 DOLLARS.”

The Canadian Tiger Swallowtail:

The Canadian tiger swallowtail is one of our nation’s most recognizable butterflies, with its distinctive yellow-and-black stripe pattern. The colours and intricate detail of the butterfly have been superbly captured by Canadian artist Celia Godkin and the Royal Canadian Mint.
