The Scooby-Doo coin is a part of the Cartoon Characters series from the Mint of Poland. This series of coins was created especially for collectors who remember these well know cartoon characters. Mintage is limited to 6,000 worldwide. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
Your coin depicts Scooby-Doo with his name in colourful inscription. In the background, scary creatures fill the space. On the obverse, the stylized image of a film reel with the scenes featuring the fantastic cartoon characters. Along the edge is the inscription: ELIZABETH II, and on the right: 1 dollar, the mint mark: MW, and at the bottom is the inscription Niue Island, and the year 2013.
Scooby-Doo:
Scooby-Doo began production in 1969 in the United States and continues to present day. Created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbara, this cartoon features four friends: Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Shaggy Rogers, and their talking dog, Scooby-Doo. These friends were known as the Mystery Gang and they travelled around the world in a van, the Mystery Machine, as they encountered monsters and mysterious cases that Fred and the girls decided to solve at the displeasure of Shaggy and Scooby.
