This 2012 double struck proof $20 coin presents a beautiful artistic rendering of a snowstorm. This is a large substantial coin, with a weight of just over one full ounce.  The mintage of this coin is limited to just 10,000 coins.  As a pure silver coin, the item is GST/HST exempt.

 

The Design:

It is designed to evoke memories of a first snowstorm of the season blowing icy crystals through a dark, starless night sky.  The image presents swirling snowflakes, twirling like frenzied dancers at a winter ball, sparkling like bouquets of jeweled flowers—no two alike, each a universe of symmetrical beauty.  To make the snowflakes truly sparkle, three Swarovski crystal elements have been inset into the centre of the three largest snowflakes.
