Description

The Montreal Canadiens, the NHL's oldest and most storied franchise, was founded on December 4, 1909, during a meeting of the National Hockey Association in Room 129 of the Windsor Hotel in downtown Montreal. The Canadiens celebrated their 100th anniversary on December 4, 2009. This set includes six collector cards with a collector album designed to hold them. These exceptionally unique hockey collector cards feature 50-cent nickel-plated steel coins that are "coloured" with the historical logos of the Montreal Canadiens.

• 1909-1910: the jersey the Canadiens wore for their first-ever game at Jubilee Arena in Montreal
• 1910–1911: the team officially changed its name to "Le club athletique Canadien" which was represented by a stylized "C" and "A" in the centre of a maple leaf across the jersey's front
• 1912–1913: the Canadiens jersey, dubbed the "Barber Shop" jersey, underwent a major facelift
• 1915–1916: the Canadiens claimed their first Stanley Cup championship wearing their trademark red jerseys with a new blue stripe across the chest and arms
• 1945–1946: a white jersey was unveiled and the Canadiens secured their sixth Stanley Cup
• 1909–2009: 10 decades of history and a recognized jersey you can be proud to honour
