Description
This fascinating “Little Chick” coloured Easter egg shaped coin uses thermocolour technology to transform as it is warmed either by hands or a warm light, revealing a baby chick coloured in spring hues. As the coin is warmed, the red disappears to reveal a hidden brightly colored baby chick. When the coin cools back to normal room temperature, the red returns to allow the process to be repeated.
The coin weighs over three quarters of an ounce of sterling silver, and measures 30 x 43 mm. It is dated 2009 and has a legal tender value of 5 Dollars in Cook Islands. Mintage is limited to just 2,500 coins.
