The White Tailed Deer

Highly adaptable, the white-tailed deer thrives across the continent in forested and bushy regions. Renowned for its grace and agility, the white-tailed deer is a remarkable runner and jumper, capable of reaching speeds up to 58 kilometers per hour. When sensing danger, it raises its tail in a behavior known as "flagging." Showing the bright white underside of the tail signals an alarm to nearby deer and serves as a visual beacon for a fawn to follow its mother to safety.
