Description
Once abundant throughout the western half of North America as far south as Mexico, the grizzly's range has retreated to the northwestern regions of the continent. In Canada, this species is considered "vulnerable". The bear's solitary nature and its need for undisturbed habitat do not fare well in the face of humanity's hunger for natural resources. Logging roads, highways and railways are critical stressors. How the grizzly bear responds to its changing environment will be a strong predictor of the fate of all of Canada's larger wilderness residents.
The coins bear a face value of $300, $150, $75, and $30 respectively, with weights of one ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce, and tenth ounce. GST/HST exempt.
