This two-coin set is the result of a collaborative effort between the Royal Canadian Mint and Norway's Den Kongelige Mynt to commemorate the arrival of the Vikings in L'Anse-aux-Meadows, Newfoundland, 1000 years ago. Both coins are struck on Norwegian blanks and contain 81% copper, 9% nickel and 10% zinc.
