In celebration of Canada’s 125th Anniversary of Confederation twelve distinct 25-cent coins were released monthly, each paying tribute to a different province or territory.

Saskatchewan’s coin showcases a classic Prairie scene complete with wheat fields, grain elevators, and a freight train traversing the open horizon. Carved out of the Northwest Territories in 1905, Saskatchewan is the only Canadian province defined entirely without natural geographic boundaries.
