Description
In celebration of Canada’s 125th Anniversary of Confederation twelve distinct 25-cent coins were released monthly, each paying tribute to a different province or territory.
The Northwest Territories’ 25-cent coin features an inuksuk, one of many built by the Inuit across the arctic landscape. These stone cairns served as vital navigation markers for boats and sleds, while also playing a crucial role in caribou hunting by guiding herd movements.
