The successor to the Royal Canadian Mint’s Big Coin series of five ounce 99.99% pure silver coins, The Bigger Picture zooms in on Canada’s classic circulation coin designs and zooms out to reveal a much bigger story.  Each coin combines the classic coin design with additional imagery that adds perspective to the theme.  Mintage is limited to just 1,300 of each coin. GST/HST exempt.  

The obverse of each coin features a maple leaf pattern and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

2 Dollars - The Polar Bear:  Polar Bear standing on an ice floe near shore.

1-Dollar - The Loon:  Loon and baby close to water.

50 Cents - Coat of Arms: Escutcheon of all the provinces and territories surrounding the 50 cent piece.

25 Cents - Caribou:  Caribou moving through water.

10 Cents – Bluenose:  Life at sea in the time of the Bluenose.

5 Cents - Beaver:  Two beavers busily building their dam.
