Description
Celebrate the Year of the Snake with this exquisite 1oz silver proof coin, part of The Perth Mint's Australian Lunar Series III. This coin honours the sixth animal in the Chinese lunar calendar and showcases exceptional minting and design quality.
According to Chinese legend, the snake secured its place in the lunar calendar by surprising a horse during a great race organized by the emperor. Those born under the sign of the Snake in years like 2025, 2013, and 2001 are believed to be wise, independent, and charming, with strong leadership qualities.
Struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, this coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The Perth Mint will release only 5,000 of these coins in this special packaging, with a total mintage of 7,500.
Design: The reverse of the coin features a coiled snake beneath hanging leaves, along with the Chinese character for 'Snake,' the inscription 'SNAKE 2025,' and The Perth Mint’s 'P' mintmark. The obverse shows the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Dan Thorne, along with the coin's weight, fineness, and denomination.
Presentation: Each coin comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity and is housed in a sleek black display case with a magnetic lid featuring a geometric design. The case is packaged in an illustrated shipper featuring a snake, which, when combined with others from the series, forms a diorama of all 12 animals from the legendary Great Race.
