The Fleet 80 Canuck
As the Second World War drew to a close, aircraft manufacturers shifted their attention to peacetime commercial markets. In 1945, Fort Erie-based Fleet Aircraft Ltd. purchased the rights and prototype of the Noury N-75, designed by J. Omer (Bob) Noury. Renamed the Fleet 80 Canuck, 225 of these aircraft were built. Its side-by-side seating layout made the Canuck an ideal trainer airplane, and it also found frequent use as a utility transport in remote northern Canada.
