Bank Note Grading Event

with Legacy Currency Grading

October 26-30, 2026

Are you considering having your bank notes professionally graded? Canadian Coin & Currency is pleased to welcome Legacy Currency Grading for a special Bank Note Grading Event from October 26–30 at our showroom in Richmond Hill. This is a unique opportunity to fast-track your bank note grading with Legacy’s team of experts on site, and no need to ship your items to them for professional evaluation.

Legacy Currency Grading is a privately owned, independent grading service dedicated to providing collectors with consistent, objective, and trusted bank note grading. Legacy certifies notes according to the most consistent grading standards, housed in what it considers the industry’s safest holder, with bank notes encapsulated in archival-quality Mylar® for long-term preservation. Since its founding in 2005, Legacy has graded more than 1.5 million bank notes worldwide, earning a reputation for security, consistency, and integrity.

Professional grading helps establish a bank note’s authenticity and condition, providing valuable information for collectors and potential buyers. Once graded, the note is securely encapsulated in a protective holder to help preserve it over time, while its assigned grade offers a standardized assessment of its condition. Graded bank notes can also be easier to catalogue, insure, and sell, giving collectors greater confidence in their collections. While grading can enhance a note’s marketability, it does not guarantee a particular market value.

Whether you have a few special notes or a larger collection, this event provides a convenient opportunity to submit your bank notes for professional grading directly through Canadian Coin & Currency, with expedited grading and special event pricing.
How Does the Event Work?
During the event, you can bring your bank notes to Canadian Coin & Currency and submit them directly to Legacy Currency Grading. Grading is not completed while you wait.

When you arrive with your bank notes, you will meet with Legacy’s experts in our retail showroom to complete the required paperwork and leave your items for grading. Once the grading process is complete, you will be contacted and can choose how you would like to retrieve your graded notes.

This streamlined process means you can submit your collection in person without having to arrange shipping yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits to having my bank note graded?

Professional grading offers several benefits for bank note collectors. It provides an expert assessment of a note’s authenticity and condition, helping you better understand and document your collection. Once graded, the note is sealed in a protective holder designed to help preserve it, while its assigned grade provides a standardized reference for collectors and potential buyers. Graded notes can also be easier to catalogue, insure, and sell, and professional certification may increase buyer confidence. While grading can support a note’s marketability, it does not guarantee a higher value or resale price.

Is grading completed while I wait?
