Description
Minted for the province of New Brunswick, this 1864 20 cent piece bears a unique reverse design, thought to be attributed to George W. Wyon. One of only 150,000 produced, the coin's reverse design showcases much larger and ornate maple boughs with a more intricate and predominant crown. A satiny light gray finish graces the surface of this coin, highlighting the intricate design. Strong relief details can be found on both faces, most notably the reverse's maple boughs and Queen Victoria's sweeping hair and laurel crown. A fantastic representative of its grade, and a delightful provincial coin for any collection.
