This 2019 $20 fine silver coin presents the softer side of nature through the animals’ display of affection.  The design features Canadian species and their habitat, and shows the softer side of nature through an animal’s display of affection. In addition to being a beautiful work of art, collectability is enhanced by the extremely low mintage of just 4,000 coins.  HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

The reverses, by wildlife artist W. Allan Hancock feature the year “2019” and the word “CANADA”, both struck incuse. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, and the obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

The reverse design captures a tender moment between two polar bears. One polar bear nuzzles the other in a gesture that expresses affection and highlights the social bond between the pair. A balanced mix of colour and engraving brings the Arctic landscape to life, helped by various frostings that separate the mountains from the sea ice. In the sky, a colourful sunset is reflected on the open water below, where an iceberg adds a cool turquoise hue.
